Alternative Energy Standards Reports Missing

Due every year from PUC, 2007 was last issue

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) has not issued its annual reports on the Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards Act since 2008, even while amendments to the bill are sitting before the House Appropriations Committee.

The Alternative Energy Portfolio Standards Act (AEPS) was passed in 2004 and mandates the percentage of alternative energy electric companies in the state must distribute. While only six of the 11 companies in Pennsylvania are currently required to comply with the legislation, the end of rate caps by the end of the year will include the remaining five companies in the mandate.

But the original bill also mandates the PUC to issue an annual report on the impact and success of the AEPS program for that year.
