If I remember Sam Roher suggested this very proposal a few years back to eliminate peoples property tax burdens to fund the schools in this manner Rendell was not interested in this now he wants to do this very thing but not to ease the taxpayer burden but to continue the goverment workers pensions on taxpayers backs. Let the pensions receipents co contribute like the rest of us and give us property tax releif now this governor campaigned and promised property tax relief for 12 years and we have seen nothing. He got all his programs and we see nothing he accused republicans of having no ideas of being the party of no and now he is claiming a republicans idea as his. Looking forward to Nov.

Rendell doesn't want to fix the problem, he just wants to raise taxes and throw more money at it. Clean up the mess, then worry about how to fund it.

The legislature cleans up this retirement mess by October, or they pack up their offices in November.
